Volunteer Opportunities for the Rio Vista Food Pantry
Driver for Food Pantry van to pick up supplies/food – Weekly – Wednesday AM’s – need to be able to lift up to 50# containers
General Admin/Office Staff to answer phones and handle donations (computer skills not necessary but a plus) – Once a week, can be Monday thru Friday depending on availability – 9AM – 1PM
Food Delivery to Shut-in Seniors – First and third Mondays between 8:30 and 10AM
Distribution Prep to prepare boxes for distribution – weekly – Thursday AM’s
Data Entry – requires basic computer skills – weekly – Monday’s
Client Registration – Sunday’s from 12:30-2PM
Prep and distribution of food – Sundays from 8:30AM – 2:30PM (flexible 3 hr shifts depending on task)
Fruit trees pickers – volunteer in conjunction with The Urban Farmers. This is on a random basis depending on when fruit is ripe. Fruit picked goes directly to the Food Pantry. For more information, please log on to theurbanfarmers.org.
